Online Safety
At Bodiam we are committed to ensuring that our children are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to keep themselves safe online. This is built into our curriculum through, most notably, RSHE and Computing lessons, but also more broadly as we engage in the use of technology daily.
As a parent, you can work in partnership with us to help your children to further develop these skills. This parent toolkit offers useful guidance:
Parent toolkit: Practical advice for keeping safe online
Zip it, Block it, Flag it
We encourage pupils to:
Zip it
Keep your personal stuff private and think about what you say and do online.
Block it
Block people who send nasty messages and don't open unknown links and attachments.
Flag it
Flag up with someone you trust if anything upsets you or if someone asks to meet you offline.
Reporting
We ensure all of our children are aware that they can report any material they come across on the internet or any use of the internet which worries them via CEOP which is the National Crime Agency's Child Exploitation and On-line Protection Centre. Parents and families can also use this tool to make a report:
